Our Junior Travel Explorers 2025 – 2026

It is a priority at Holy Cross School to ensure that our pupils travel to school safely. The role of the Junior Travel Explorers (JTE’s) is to help to ensure that Road Safety remains a high profile. Our JTE’s are chosen because they are committed to sustainable transport and understand the need for children to be safe when travelling to school.  Their responsibilities include assisting our Lewisham Road Safety Officer when he comes into school to give termly road safety assemblies and to help with promotions and competitions. They also help to collect information and carry out surveys for the School Travel Plan.

The Junior Travel Explorers judge the Big Walk and Wheel poster competition with Mrs Mahony and hand out the prizes to the winners at assembly.

Look out for some new, updated photos coming soon.

Our Junior Travel Ambassador have been carrying out a traffic survey at our school entrance on Culverley Road. They have discovered that there is a lack of parking immediately outside the outside the school and a result of this, some cars are double parked and pulling up on yellow lines.

After carrying out the traffic survey, the JTA’s are in the process of constructing a letter to the Mayor of Lewisham about the roads around our school.
